NSLDS—National Student Loan Data System
Visit this site to obtain information on your student loan history. The site provides information on outstanding loan balances, your loan statuses (whether repayment, deferment, forebearance, or default) and more. In order to use the NSLDS Student Access web site, you will need to provide your social security number (SSN), the first two digits of your last name, your date of birth, and your PIN (Personal Identification Number). A link to request your PIN is provided on the NSLDS webpage.

Selective Service
If you are a male between the ages of 18 and 25, and you have not registered with Selective Service you can do so at the Selective Service site. If you have registered, but you have lost your proof of registration, you can obtain your Selective Service registration number here.

A free, Internet-based service which allows students to easily track their education loan information. The service is provided by the National Student Loan Clearinghouse. To access information about your loan servicers, you’ll need to input only your Social Security Number and date of birth. The service provides a list of your loan providers, and information for contacting them. Financial details, such as loan amounts and loan status, are not provided.

FastWeb.com is a scholarship search on the Internet. It provides access to a searchable database of more than 275,000 private sector scholarships, fellowships, grants, and student loans. Used by colleges across the United States, fastWEB is now available to you FREE through the World Wide Web, courtesy of the West Virginia University Financial Aid Office and fastWEB.com, L.L.C.
To use fastWEB, a student fills out a detailed profile through a series of online forms. After the forms are complete, fastWEB responds within a few minutes with a list of matching awards. Each entry in this list includes information about deadlines, eligibility requirements, award amounts, and contact information for the award provider.
